Brand storytelling that builds connection—not just content.

Branding that Connects

Mairin Deery is a Vancouver-based branding designer with nearly a decade of experience developing visual identities for growing businesses, tech startups, and mission-driven organizations.

Since 2015, she has designed and maintained over 20 brand projects, working with many clients through multiple iterations and refreshes as their organizations evolve. Her experience spans brand strategy, visual identity development, and long-term brand stewardship, with notable projects including Aplin Martin Consultants, 10net Digital Signage Solutions, HannahHR, Blankslate, the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra, and custom hand-lettered branding for illustrator Brigette Barrager.

She brings a strategic foundation to visual work, ensuring every identity system is built to communicate clearly, hold together across applications, and scale with the client’s needs. Her background working independently with diverse clients has made her a precise, self-directed collaborator who integrates readily into existing project workflows.

Mairin holds her RGD designation and is active in the design community through workshops and mentorship programming with RGD, and as a guest lecturer on branding at SFU.

She is currently seeking part-time and fractional brand design engagements with agency teams.

Case Studies - Past and Current Clients

hannahHR: Creative Director, Chief Marketing Officer, Product Design
As one of the founding members of hannahHR, an AI-based tech startup, I have designed the brand and all assets, written all communications from web copy, executive summaries, pitch decks and blog posts, and work with the team internally to build and deepen the quality of our product while we ready our communications to go to market. We have a lot to do, and we’re working on pieces strategically to ensure we get the most value out of the work we’re doing, at the right time.

Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra: Brand, Website, Ongoing Print Support
In advance of their 90th year, I redesigned the VYSO logo to speak to their young, passionate musical audience. Their brand was dated, as was their website, and they wanted a refreshed look that spoke to their youth clientele. I have since worked with the VYSO on seasonal looks, illustrations, and a second brand refresh, elevating the orchestra as it entered its 95th year. We're about to work on their 96th season, and I couldn't be more excited.

BLANKSLATE Partners: Branding, Web Design, Brand Refresh, Visual and Verbal Branding, Website Redesign
As a long-time creative partner of BLANKSLATE Partners, I built the BLANKSLATE brand 12 years ago, and I’m rebuilding it again now. BLANKSLATE Partners has been a leader in the fractional HR space in Canada. While their logo design still resonates, their colours, website, and strategic positioning need to expand to include new markets and services. At this time, we’re updating colours, fonts, branding visuals to elevate the brand and expand into two new services pillars that position them as a leader in their market of HR and Operations Consultancies.

Natalie Miles: Brand Refresh, Website Redesign And Development Management
Natalie Miles is a medium, broadcasting her psychic messages from Bath, UK. She maintains a large online following and private clientele. Her website was no longer reflective of the immersive work she was doing in her space. I worked with Natalie to refresh her brand, which spoke to the energetic and connective nature of her work. We refreshed the colours to bring a muted palette more energy. I worked to redesign and manage the development of her new, simple and sleek WordPress site, and worked with her on an ongoing basis on social media and branded graphics.
